Lesson #11 – How to add Image Lightbox

The lightbox feature is by default turned on, and you can switch it on or off by going to Dashboard > Elementor > Settings > Style, and make sure the checkbox is checked.

1. Inside the editor, drag and drop the Image widget, and choose an image 
2. Change the link to ‘Media file’ (This has to be done for the lightbox to work) 
3. Go to the left hamburger icon, and click on a new setting called Global Settings 
4. Now, click on the lightbox tab. You will now be able to change the  background color
 Preview the lightbox changes by clicking on the image.

You can also switch the Lightbox feature on and off from the Global Settings page in addition to the Elementor dashboard.

Lesson #12  – How to use maintenance mode

Elementor now offers you a way to easily set maintenance mode pages on WordPress. (Read the complete Maintenance Mode post here)

Here how you go into maintenance mode:

Step 1 – Save a template you wish to use for your maintenance mode page. You can also use one of our predesigned templates.

Step 2 – Go to Elementor > Tools

Step 3 – Choose between coming soon and maintenance mode.  

Step 4 – Pick the template for the maintenance mode.

That’s it, you are in maintenance mode! You will see a red button on your top WordPress bar with the text: “Maintenance Mode ON”.

Lesson #14 – Revision History, Undo and Redo

Elementor includes built-in revision history, as well as Undo and Redo. With these features, you get a log for every action and save made on the editor.

Each revision item lists the date and time it was created, as well as who made the revision. After you find the revision you want to revert back to, click on ‘Apply’ to apply the old revision on the current page. You can also click on ‘Discard’ to return to the current version of the page.

The Revision History feature is built on the basic WordPress Revisions system and enhances it. This means that any changes to the WP system will affect Elementor’s revisions. For example: define( ‘WP_POST_REVISIONS’, 3 );

Create Headings and Titles and set their font, color, size and weight. 
In this video, you will learn how to customize your heading, change the line-height, letter-spacing and make the heading responsive to all devices.

The ‘Title’ setting lets you change the text that appears in the heading. 
The ‘Link’ lets you add a link the heading will link to, and gives you the option to open the link in another window. 
The ‘Size’ setting lets you change the heading to small, medium, large, XL or XXL. 
The ‘HTML Tag’ can be set to H1..H6, Div, Span or paragraph. 
The Alignment can also be set to left, right, center or justified.

The Menu Anchor widget is a great helper for creating a one-page website, or a page with an internal smooth scrolling navigation. It’s really easy to use. All you have to do is place the Menu Anchor widget wherever you want the link to scroll to, and name it accordingly. On most one page websites there are links to areas like the features section, the about section and the contact section.

After placing the widget, you can link to the name of the section by setting the link on the menu or inside the page to ‘#’+ the name you placed in the Menu Anchor widget. The widget itself will not be seen by the visitor.
